[ On the morning of the 13th, one day before Valentine's Day, a sudden text message appears from a Souji Seta. Perhaps you've talked to him before. Perhaps you haven't. Perhaps you're wondering why the hell you are receiving a text at six in the morning but look, let's not sweat the small details. Pay attention to the larger ones, like the contents of this very important message: ]

Hello.

Through the tides of fate, you have been chosen to participate in this year's Valentine's Day event: Blind Dating. It is believed that no one should be alone for such an important day and as such, you have been paired up with another lonely soul.

Your match is with Aleksi Lehtonen. Please contact them to plan out your date for tomorrow.

However, if you and your partner do not know what to do, there will be a booth in Recollé Square for the sole purpose of assisting unsure or confused participants of the event. There will be date suggestions, booklets of pick-up lines, and refreshments.

[Luckily for Souji, David's used to getting up early. There's a small frown on his face while he's reading over the text - he's pretty sure he hasn't signed up for any blind dates recently. Besides, considering everything else, it was hard enough for him to find time to himself in the first place.

It is a bit weird to get a text this early in the morning, all things considered.

Beyond that, there's only one other person that he could think of that would actually attempt to meddle like this, considering his parents were right out and trying to meddle in his love life, while a thing they sometimes did, was never to this extent. At least from this point in his life.

Now it was just a matter of getting the gears turning. In the meantime, though -]

Thanks! I'll be sure to get a hold of them. :) [Oh is he going to kick Yoon-sung's ass for this one. It's not the boys' fault they got involved in this, so he's definitely baring no ill-will.]

[Yoon-sung likes to sleep in which is why it takes him about three various annoying alarms to wake up enough to take a shower. The sound of a text message interrupting the very loud fanchant of Wonder Girls had him raise his head from his pillows and then dig his phone out. He squints, rubs his eyes and then makes a face before flopping face first back into his pillow. After the fanchant, the chorus to 'BANG BANG BANG' started up and he raised his head again to re-squint at the message.

He groaned, rolled out of bed and stretched. Muttering in Korean, he thumbed open his phone and selected David's number before typing in a brief message:

Thanks for the date -_- | ㅡㅡ

That done, he went to wash up and think about what to do about his date.]

[Unlike his boss, David's practically had it ingrained in his head to be an early riser. Not that he didn't value his sleep schedule, but it just was how he operated. Blame growing up with parents in the military.

So he's already showered and on his way out to get his morning coffee and jog going before work when he gets a message from Yoon-sung, grinning a bit before replying:]

You're welcome. Turnabout is fair play after all, boss~

[Nope, he wasn't going to sit around on this, things are weird enough as it is with that app and he wants to make sure he is not dreaming things up.]

Okay, I can explain. She found me at the gym on one of my training days, offered to see how her technique and form were, and gave her some tips. It kinda went from there.

Especially since it was nice to teach someone actually willing at the time.

[A package is sitting there, and inside is four things. First, a box of chocolate Pocky with a sticky note that says "Happy Pocky Day! ♥" stuck to the front. Next, two hand knit scarves, one in brown and one in red. And then finally a letter.]

Dear David,

Happy birthday! お誕生日おめでとう! I hope my present is useful to you this morning. I'm sorry I can't give it to you in person, since I'm super busy this morning...but I wanted you to have it as soon as possible, too. Maybe we can meet up later today instead so I can make it up to you? Or would you rather meet up on Sunday instead? Let me know!

Coincidentally, today is Pocky Day in Japan, too! ポッキーゲームをしよう? I hope you enjoy them!

[ He would've asked for further clarification, but it's by this point that he gets to the front door and sees the package, tearing into it once he gets inside and being careful, focusing intently to make sure he doesn't set anything on fire in the process.

He lets out a soft chuckle when he unearths the pocky, setting the box on the coffee table for the moment while he pulls out the scarves, his expression incredibly fond already before he even reads the note. It was so Minako to go out of her way like this, and it was incredibly endearing. He grabs his phone to send another message: ]

Never mind, got the package.
Thank you. I should be free later this afternoon if you wanted to meet up? I admit in my old age I'm not too fond of going too ham on my birthday but I'd still be open to suggestions.

[She'd texted him earlier to let him know she'd be stopping by the apartment tonight. It doesn't feel right to ask him to be her plus one for a wedding over text.

Minako doesn't think he'd be against it? But on the off chance he has a commitment already, at least she has this slow cooker of enchiladas for him and Yoon-sung to give as an anti-awkward distraction before making her escape.]

David? Hellooo? Maybe he's not home yet...

[ While David knew that his girlfriend was going to be coming over to the apartment sometime today, he didn't really know what time exactly, so he just took his mid off of things by trying to do some exercise coupled with working on a few control exercises for his scale-shifting, specifically. He was getting much better about being able to control when they would show up and go away, though sometimes holding them there was where he would falter. It was definitely better than nothing, though.

He's just started getting dressed after being in the shower, mostly dressed outside of a proper shirt. So when Minako sees the door open, she's greeted by this once it's open. Not that David's realizing just what he's exactly doing at first, more focused on making sure his girlfriend's inside and doesn't accidentally drop the food. ]

Oh crap - hey, come on in. Be quick, Cheshire's been taking to trying to escape the house lately.

[Late night training on the beach! This is where Minako has always done most of her training, and the cold air is no deterrent to that. When David arrives, he'll find her perched on top of Seth's back, wrapped in a shawl and singing to the dragon.]

[Seth snorts, and then Minako looks up with him, waving to David.]

Hi! Ready to practice?

[ It's definitely a big enough space to not have to worry about accidentally causing damage, at the very least. It makes sense that this would be a good place to do training using abilities that could ... probably do some major collateral damage. Whoops.

David jogs up to the beach from where his car's parked, giving a grin and a wave as he gets closer before stopping just short of where Seth is laying. Even after a bit of time, it seems that instincts still have him being wary of the other dragon, and he can feel the itching feeling of his scales trying to pop up along his arms, but wills it down for the time being. ]

About as ready as I probably will ever be at this point.
