[ On the morning of the 13th, one day before Valentine's Day, a sudden text message appears from a Souji Seta. Perhaps you've talked to him before. Perhaps you haven't. Perhaps you're wondering why the hell you are receiving a text at six in the morning but look, let's not sweat the small details. Pay attention to the larger ones, like the contents of this very important message: ]

Hello.

Through the tides of fate, you have been chosen to participate in this year's Valentine's Day event: Blind Dating. It is believed that no one should be alone for such an important day and as such, you have been paired up with another lonely soul.

Your match is with Aleksi Lehtonen. Please contact them to plan out your date for tomorrow.

However, if you and your partner do not know what to do, there will be a booth in Recollé Square for the sole purpose of assisting unsure or confused participants of the event. There will be date suggestions, booklets of pick-up lines, and refreshments.

[Yoon-sung likes to sleep in which is why it takes him about three various annoying alarms to wake up enough to take a shower. The sound of a text message interrupting the very loud fanchant of Wonder Girls had him raise his head from his pillows and then dig his phone out. He squints, rubs his eyes and then makes a face before flopping face first back into his pillow. After the fanchant, the chorus to 'BANG BANG BANG' started up and he raised his head again to re-squint at the message.

He groaned, rolled out of bed and stretched. Muttering in Korean, he thumbed open his phone and selected David's number before typing in a brief message:

Thanks for the date -_- | ㅡㅡ

That done, he went to wash up and think about what to do about his date.]

[Unlike his boss, David's practically had it ingrained in his head to be an early riser. Not that he didn't value his sleep schedule, but it just was how he operated. Blame growing up with parents in the military.

So he's already showered and on his way out to get his morning coffee and jog going before work when he gets a message from Yoon-sung, grinning a bit before replying:]

You're welcome. Turnabout is fair play after all, boss~

Thought you would like to meet someone new

[And he was out of the shower and taking care of his skin because someone like him needed to make sure he wasn't going to end up with dry skin from bending over computer screens all day long. Which meant that he was also going to need to run through some simple exercises. Can't stay stiff and then expect to not have back problems by the end of the day.]

[Luckily for Souji, David's used to getting up early. There's a small frown on his face while he's reading over the text - he's pretty sure he hasn't signed up for any blind dates recently. Besides, considering everything else, it was hard enough for him to find time to himself in the first place.

It is a bit weird to get a text this early in the morning, all things considered.

Beyond that, there's only one other person that he could think of that would actually attempt to meddle like this, considering his parents were right out and trying to meddle in his love life, while a thing they sometimes did, was never to this extent. At least from this point in his life.

Now it was just a matter of getting the gears turning. In the meantime, though -]

Thanks! I'll be sure to get a hold of them. :) [Oh is he going to kick Yoon-sung's ass for this one. It's not the boys' fault they got involved in this, so he's definitely baring no ill-will.]

It's more I figured you could have someone else to complain about me to that isn't actually working under me and feels scared I may fire them if they get too lippy.

Yes, because me going on about how you drive me up the wall is gonna be so romantic.

I'm not going to try, but if I'm put on a date I might as well try to be civil and not cause a scene right off the bat.

That's not how this works. I still don't get why you have such an aversion to learning how to defend yourself.

Part of learning self-defence is discipline too, you know. Training both your mind and body so that you know when to hold back and when to cut loose.

[Nope, he wasn't going to sit around on this, things are weird enough as it is with that app and he wants to make sure he is not dreaming things up.]

[... of course he gets a call during one of the few times he's actually trying to relax. Or some approximation.]

I swear if this is another food run for you I'm not doing it.

No it's not another food run.

[It's not normally a tone that Yoon-sung used in forever - that sharp, almost cruel bite that he tries so hard not to use at anyone except people that had screwed him over.]

Have I ever dated a woman by the name Kim Na-na?

[Okay that shift in tone definitely has him on-edge. Though the question doesn't seem to completely match up.]

Not that I remember, no. Why?

[He's not trying to direct it at David, even if it might sound like it. The flash of memory wasn't a good one, especially since it seemed that he was scared about his father doing something - killing - to the woman and that wasn't right. His father was many things, but a killer wasn't one of them.]

I had a weird memory of some woman getting hit by eggs and calling herself a 'bullet-shield'. We were arguing about it and it seemed that I was scared my Father was going to shoot her.

voice;

Alright, so there's two things wrong with that scenario:

One, your dad wouldn't be the type to pull that. He's ruthless when he wants to be but he's not a murderer.

Two, I've been your "bullet-shield" for a while, and I'm pretty sure someone would've mentioned you having a female bodyguard. Sure you weren't watching a drama and fell asleep or something?

voice;

I know that!

[He snaps it and flops onto his couch, frowning at the ceiling as if he expected answers to appear there.]

She wasn't my guard either. She was... [The images didn't actually spell out what kind of relationship they had, only that he was trying to either push her away or something confusing.] someone's guard that was in the way of something and was going to die because my Father wouldn't allow anyone to get in his way.

[He kicked out, growling a little.] I- it felt so real.

voice;

[negativism]

Deep breaths.

[He's not being patronizing or snarky for once, just genuinely concerned. See, he cares.]

What was she in the way of? Did you know what she was a part of that would have your father even turning his attention to her and her boss?
